What Pyrse is
Pyrse is a financial insights tool for small business owners. It connects (read-only) to the bank account and register (POS) you already have, spots the bills and income coming up, and answers everyday money questions in plain language.
It is not accounting software, a bank, a lending product, or a replacement for a financial advisor.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract in your jurisdiction to use Pyrse.
You agree to provide honest information when signing up, and to keep your login credentials secure. One account per business, please — you can always invite team members later.
How your bank and register data works
When you connect a bank account, you authorize Pyrse to read your balance and transaction history through Plaid, a secure third-party service. When you connect your register, you authorize Pyrse to read your menu and catalog through Square. This access is always read-only — it can never move money, make transfers, refund charges, or change anything in your accounts.
You own your data. We keep it only to provide the service. You can disconnect a bank account or your register at any time in Settings, which stops those numbers from updating.
Not financial advice
Pyrse gives you plain-language summaries and calculations based on your own numbers. Its chat assistant, Bursar, answers from that same data and is clearly labeled informational only. Pyrse is not a licensed financial advisor, accountant, or tax professional. Nothing Pyrse says — in the dashboard or in chat — is intended as financial, legal, or tax advice.
You are responsible for your own business decisions. If you need professional advice, talk to a qualified professional who knows your situation.
Your business information
The calculations Pyrse shows depend on the information it reads from your connected accounts. If your bank or register sends incomplete or inaccurate data, the insights will reflect that.
Pyrse labels its own estimates clearly — look for phrases like "estimated" or "best guess." You can always tap into the math behind any number.
What you can't do
You agree not to use Pyrse to harm others, attempt unauthorized access, scrape data, or break any law. Don't share your login or try to access another business's numbers.
Subscriptions and billing
Pyrse is not currently charging for access. If we introduce a paid plan in the future, we'll tell you clearly before any charges apply. You will never be charged without your knowledge.
Termination
You can delete your account and business at any time by emailing us. We'll remove your personal information and bank data within 30 days.
We may suspend or end your access if you misuse the service, violate these terms, or do something that harms other users or the service itself. We'll contact you first when possible.
Disclaimers
Pyrse is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it accurate and running, but we don't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free — especially while it's in active development. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on its output.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pyrse won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Our total liability will never exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a meaningful change, we'll note the updated date here and may notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state where you operate your business. Disputes should first be raised informally by contacting us — we'd rather talk than litigate.
